Achievement

Nam Ki-tae, a professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Seoul National University, succeeded in artificially implementing the ‘chiral’ structure that exists only in the natural world for the first time in the world. It is expected to develop new materials that will be used in various fields such as high-efficiency catalysts, three-dimensional holograms, pharmaceuticals, and optics.

In addition, the possibility of developing eco-friendly new materials imitating plant photosynthesis, which is expected to play an important role in realizing a carbon-neutral society, has been published in a series of global journals, drawing attention as one of the most influential researchers in material engineering.
