Kyungpook National University’s Attached Middle School (Daegu City) was founded in
1946. This school is a traditional school with more than 60 years of history, so it is widely
known that this school has difficulty in operating creative educational programs. However,
since 2012, this school is in the second stage of further development based on the
student-centered education that invokes the joy in learning.
Introducing 'Project Based Learning', in which students work together with their friends to solve complex problems presented by teachers, this school is promoting the collaborative problem-solving ability of students.
In addition, the school also promotes “Flipping Learning” in which students review by watching video at home and discuss with their friends at school in working on homework by escaping from traditional learning by rote, which helps to create pleasant classroom atmosphere.
The school was selected Top 100 Schools in 2014, and has been benchmarked not only in Korea but also by the University of Wisconsin in the USA and Miyagi Education University in Japan, etc.
The creative education innovation model of the school is blowing a fresh breeze in the field of public education.
