- Selection of 15 best students from the Al-Farabi National University by 3-step selection process

 

On Oct 26, The POSCO TJ Park Foundation visited Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Kazakhstan and held a fellowship award ceremony for Asia’s best universities.

 

Established as a scholarship program in 2005, POSCO TJ Park Foundation’s “POSCO Fellowship for Asia’s Best Universities” has been supporting scholarship for students in Asia’s best universities, contributing to the promotion of exchange and cooperation between Korea and Asian countries.

At the ceremony held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University on Oct 26, 20 people including Jeong, Jae-bong, the president of POSCO Daewoo Almaty, Soeng, Nak-yeon, the executive  director of POSCO TJ Park Foundation, Bulkitbaev, the president of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University participated to congratulate fellowship winners.

 

In particular, applications were received from 15 departments under the supervision of POSCO Daewoo Almaty, followed by the first documentary review, English essay test, and final interview. And finally 15 best students were selected through 3: 1 competition.

 

"I am very pleased that the best students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University were selected to receive POSCO scholarship” said Bulkitbaev, the president of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

 

"I hope that the scholarship students who have been selected through the fierce competition will be proud as POSCO scholarship students and grow into good leaders in the future," said Soeng, Nak-yeon, the executive director of POSCO TJ Park Foundation.

 

" POSCO Daewoo Almaty will provide the internship opportunities to scholarship students after graduation, and I would like to congratulate the scholarship students once again." said Jeong, Jae-bong, the president of POSCO Daewoo Almaty.

 

Meanwhile, POSCO TJ Park Foundation will pay scholarships to 300 undergraduates from 22 universities in 12 Asian countries, including Kazakhstan, giving spurs to train the talented in Asia.
