POSCO TJ Park Foundation invited Mun’s family to the POSCO Museum in Pohang on August 27 and held POSCO Heroes Fellowship award ceremony.

POSCO TJ Park Foundation selected Myung-geun Mun, an employee of Hyundai Motors, for jumping into the river to save an elementary school student drowning at the deep end in face of danger, and delivered certificate and scholarship on August 27.

Around 2:20PM on August 19, Myung-geun Mun heard an elementary school student floundering at the deep end of Dongcheongang River in Buk-gu, Ulsan, screaming for help, and immediately reported to 119 and jumped into the river without hesitation.  He promptly saved the child who was already unconscious and drowning in water, and performed CPR to save a little boy’s life.  The boy was moved to the hospital for treatment and suffered no life-threatening injuries, thanks to Mun’s prompt action.
