The POSCO TJ Park Foundation held first “Asia Opinion Leader Fellowship”

- For two weeks from Aug 26th, the POSCO TJ Park Foundation held a International Conference program jointly with Seoul National University and POSTECH. The workshop consisted of various lectures, industry visits, and cultural experiences.

 

-20 young opinion leaders from 8 countries participated in the conference, contributing to mutual understanding and shared growth among Asian countries

 

 

 For two weeks from Aug 26th to Sep 7th, the POSCO TJ Park Foundation (Chairman, Sunuk Kim) held International Conference “Asia Opinion Leader Fellowship” jointly with Seoul National University and POSTECH by inviting opinion leaders from Asian countries.

 

The Asian Opinion Leader Fellowship, which was held starting from this year, is an invitational conference, which is aimed to contribute to mutual understanding and cooperation between Korea and Asia by discussing common issues in Asia and sharing the successful economic development of Korea with young and potential elites in Asian countries.

 

20 people from 8 Asian countries (Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, China, India, and Turkey) participated in this “Asia Opinion Leader Fellowship”. The conference was hosted by the Institute for Asian Development, Graduate School of Public Administration, Seoul National University in the first week, and was hosted by the Research Institute of Convergence Cultures, the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, POSTECH in the second week.

 

Asian opinion leaders who participated in the program promoted in-depth understanding of Korea's economy, society, and culture through various lectures, debates, visits to industrial sites, and experiences of Korean culture during the conference period. After this conference, they are expected to contribute to the mutual growth of Korea and Asian countries through exchange of a wide range of information.

 

At the opening ceremony held at Seoul National University on Aug 26, Sunuk, Kim (Chairman of POSCO TJ Park Foundation) encouraged participants in her speech by saying, “I hope this two-week conference program will be a good opportunity for young opinion leaders, who will lead the future of Asia, to gather together to exchange opinions and share new information and knowledge about key issues in Asia.”
