▲ On July 7 POSCO TJ Park Foundation visited KDI to celebrate 4 graduating students (officials in developing countries in Asia) and delivered graduation plaques made of PosART.
From June 25 to July 7 POSCO TJ Park Foundation visited 9 universities and held a gathering to celebrate the graduating students after completing their master's programs and doctoral coursework programs.
Having cancelled a gathering where all graduating attend to minimize Corona 19 infections in the community this year, POSCO TJ Park Foundation visited each university for the safety of students. In the presence of the fellows who were admitted to 9 major universities, including Seoul National University, Yonsei University, Korea University, POSTECH, Ewha Womans University, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Sogang University, Academy of Korean Studies, and KDI, in 2018, POSCO TJ Park Foundation praised their achievements and listened to their opinions to improve the fellowship program.

“Thanks to the POSCO TJ Park Foundation because unlike other students who had to work part-time to make a living expenses, it was good to concentrate on studying”, said Yaoqiong Yu (China) currently studying at Ewha Womans University, “I would like to become a professor to introduce Korean culture and language to China”. Expressing her gratitude for the support of the Foundation over the past two years, Suhena (India) studying at Yonsei University also thanked POSCO TJ Park Foundation for providing various opportunities for experiences and memories, such as a tour of POSCO Steel mill and various cultural experiences.
The scholarship program selects about 50 students from developing countries in Asia and pays the full tuition and living expenses to support them in taking master's and doctoral programs at leading graduate schools, including Seoul National University, KDI, Yonsei University, and POSTECH every year. POSCO TJ Park Foundation also provides various programs, such as a tour of POSCO steel mill and Korean cultural experiences to help students to experience Korean culture and economic development. The scholarship, which started in 2005, has supported over 417 Asian students to date, and will continue to support Asian talents to study in Korea and return to their home countries to grow as next-generation leaders.
